Adult Summer Paddling Program

Learn how to Paddle over 5 weekend sessions with the Pittsburgh Paddlefish!

Have you ever seen Dragon Boating on the Allegheny and wondered how you could get involved? Or maybe heard about it from someone else and are looking to learn the sport? If so, the Adult Summer Paddling program is just what you’re looking for.  You will see yourself progress over the 5 sessions from the basic fundamentals of paddling to mock-race experiences while being lead by the Pittsburgh Paddlefish Dragonboat Team.

  • No experience necessary
  • All ASP paddlers will wear PFDs at all times while on the water
  • Demonstration, Coaching, and Safety Launches will be provided by TRRA and the Pittsburgh Paddlefish
  • Space is limited!

Over the course of the five weeks, participants will be introduced to all aspects of Dragonboating and will leave with the knowledge necessary to venture out into the world of paddling! The purpose of this program is to introduce individuals to the community and sport of dragon boating without the pressure of committing to a team. Need-based scholarships are available for those who qualify.
