2010 Competitive Sweep
Summer Rowing Program
Three Rivers Junior Rowing offers year-round programs. For
information about registering for rowing programs offered
during the school year, please proceed to TRJR.
The Competitive Sweep Summer Rowing Program is offered for
high school students (including those that just graduated) with
at least one year of rowing recommended who are looking to take
it to the next level.
New in 2010: Athlete Development Series
Every Wednesday after the morning practice (9:00-10:00 AM)
June 16, 23, 30 and July 7
1. College Rowing - What opportunities are out there and how to find them
2. Nutrition for Racing and Training (Rowing Specific)
3. Rowing Flexibility - the most widely ignored "free speed" by
all rowing teams
4. Be an Organized Athlete - Time management, how to be purposeful in your
workouts and valuable ideas like keeping a log book.
Competitive Sweep Racing:

Emphasis is on producing the fastest racing lineups possible.
Significant amount of time is spent training and seat racing. Participants
commit to the full five week, rigorous regimen
and will compete at several exciting summer regattas. Although
no cuts will be made, racing boats will be determined by
participant commitment and ability.
"The Program"
- Who:
- Boys and Girls that are in high school or just completed
their senior year of high school. We will again offer a Junior B program
in addition to our Junior A program. We reserve the right to have a
Junior B athlete compete with Junior A's.
If needed, we will add a developmental side of the camp for athletes that will not be racing as much. - Junior A = 19 and Under
- Junior B = 16 and Under
- Boys and Girls that are in high school or just completed
their senior year of high school. We will again offer a Junior B program
in addition to our Junior A program. We reserve the right to have a
Junior B athlete compete with Junior A's.
- Dates:
- A pre-camp session will be held for available athletes from May 31-June 12. These will be coached sessions on land. All athletes are expected to attend starting June 14th (if your school does not end until after that, please just let us know). Practices will run through July 19th.
- Pre-Camp - May 31- June 12
- Program - June 14 - July 19
- PRELIMINARY Practice Schedule:
- The Pre-Camp sessions will be offered five days a week
Monday - Friday for two hours in the afternoon. We want to encourage
those who still may be in school to come down to the boathouse and stay
in shape! All practices will take place on ergs!
- June 1– June 13:
Monday - Friday 4:00-6:00 pm - 8 practices per week from the Lambert Boathouse on
Washington’s Landing
- June 15 – July 20:
Regular practices 6 mornings a week:
Monday - Saturday 7:00-9:00 am;
2 evenings a week:
Boys: Monday, Wednesday 3:00-5:00 pm*
Girls: Tuesday, Thursday 3:00-5:00 pm*
*Coach and Team may decide to change slightly

Fee includes registration, coaching, uniform and equipment use.- * Does not include out-of-town travel, lodging, or
food cost.
Fees for races (lodging, transportation and race fees) will be collected separately and are expected to be about $200 for IDR and $400 for Club Nationals.
Fees for races are only charged to rowers and coxswains who are selected to travel with the team and collected during the program. Race fees do not include food (we will provide transportation to go to grocery stores during the trips). - * Refunds are not guaranteed and will only be considered after the Program begins. Forms & Fees
Forms are required to be on record at TRRA for all rowers on or before the first practice, including the following documents:
- 1. TRRA Legal Waiver, signed by parent;
- 2. TRRA Swim Test Form, signed by a certified life guard.
Fees are due to TRRA at the first practice of the second week of program participation. Rowers will not be permitted to practice after the first week until all fees are paid. Automatic Bank Debit plans must be arranged with the TRRA Office and will be charged an additional $15 bank fee. Needs-based athletic scholarships are available for qualified applicants.
