4th – 7th Grade Recreational Rowing

TRJR31 The Three Rivers 4th-7th Grade Recreational Rowing program exists to introduce the sport of rowing to young people in Allegheny County. Our program specifically seeks to show individuals the benefits of rowing on the rivers of Pittsburgh. Alums from the 4th–7th grade team go on to row for Three Rivers Junior Rowing (TRJR) team (LINK) and have future opportunities in college and adult rowing!

Emphasis within the 4th-7th grade team is on fun and exercise. Participants will be introduced to the sport of rowing through both land and water activities during each practice. The program begins by learning about proper technique and safety, but participants quickly progress to rowing on the water in sculling shells. The coaches for the 4th–7th grade program come from the Three Rivers Junior Rowing (TRJR) team. Our coaching staff makes safety and long-term athlete development a particular point of focus.
