Three Rivers Junior Rowing (TRJR)

The 2019-2020 TRJR season will begin on Wednesday, August 21st. Registration is now open!

TRJR – “It Takes a Team”

Three Rivers Junior Rowing (TRJR) promotes the sport of rowing at the junior level throughout Allegheny County. Three Rivers Rowing provides coaching, equipment, administration and helps to establish parent participation. We encourage any 8-12th grade athlete – no matter their current athletic ability or experience – to partake in the sport of rowing. Three Rivers takes a great amount of pride in developing athletes through their entire rowing career.

TRJR is one of the most competitive programs in the Midwest Region and has enjoyed a significant amount of success at the national level. Our athletes train hard, learn important life skills, and leave our program prepared for college and life. Many TRJR alums go on to collegiate rowing and a significant number receive athletic scholarships. We are looking for hard workers and individuals willing to set high standards for themselves and their team!

Athletes from all area schools can practice together, which provides more flexibility in boat selection and enhances the quality of the rowing experience and rower development. TRJR is designed to be a competitive rowing team while still having the capability to teach new rowers. Athletes will be grouped together according to skill level and coached accordingly. Rowers will earn seats in racing boats. The team’s priority is to field the fastest boats possible in all categories. Attendance and commitment level are directly related to each athlete’s boat.

The team consists of two groups – novice and varsity. The novice team is the group of rowers who are in their first year of rowing. They practice and race other novice teams. The varsity team is made up of rowers who are in at least their second year of rowing.
