Pittsburgh Paddlefish
The Pittsburgh Paddlefish proudly represent TRRA and Pittsburgh in the dragon boat community. The Paddlefish are a diverse group bonded through their appreciation of dragon boating, teamwork, river water, speed, camaraderie, sore muscles, and festive social outings.

The Paddlefish formed as an adult competitive dragon boat team in the fall of 2003. Paddlefish race at the local, national, and international levels. In addition to competing in the Pittsburgh Dragon Boat Races, the Paddlefish travel to annual events in cities such as Washington DC, Toronto, and Philadelphia. Team members have earned spots in international races such as the 2005 World Dragon Boat Championships in Berlin, Germany, the 2007 World Dragon Boat Championships in Sydney, Australia, the 2008 World Club Championships in Penang, Malaysia, the 2013 World Dragon Boat Championships in Hungary and the 2019 World Dragon Boat Championships in Taiwan!

The Paddlefish are actively recruiting new members. No prior boating experience is required. If it’s your first time in a dragon boat, they will give you a step-by-step introduction aimed at getting you paddling on the water safely and quickly. You just need to come prepared to work up a little sweat, get a little wet, and have a lot of fun!
