January 2023: Annual Campaign Wrap-Up, Annual Meeting, & Indoor Sprints


Indoor Sprints are Back!

After a two year, pandemic induced hiatus, the Pittsburgh Indoor Sprint Championships are BACK!

Three Rivers Rowing Association is proud to partner with the Kingsley Association to host the 2023 Indoor Sprint Championships. Here is what you need to know:

  • Date: Saturday, January 28, 2023

  • Location: The Kingsley Association

  • Registration: Opens on Thursday, January 5, 2023 via Regatta Central

  • Events: Masters (1000 meters); Adaptive, Collegiate, Open, Under 20, Under 18, Under 17, Under 15 (2000 meters); Under 13 & Coxswains (500m); Individual and Relay events; Men's, Womens and Open Gender divisions.

  • Cost: $25 per entry.

  • Race Packet: 2023 Pittsburgh Indoor Sprint Championships

UPCOMING EVENTS

Annual Meeting

The 2023 Annual Meeting will be held virtually on Saturday, February 11th at 12:00 pm.

Flash Erg Sale

Three Rivers is selling 20 used ergs for $650 each as part of the Pittsburgh Indoor Championships. These ergs have been professionally maintained and are in good working condition. These ergs will be available for pick up at the conclusion of the Pittsburgh Indoor Sprint Championships. If you are interested in purchasing an erg, please complete the form HERE.



Annual Appeal Wrap-Up

On behalf of the TRRA staff, Board of Directors, and athletes, we want to express a massive THANK YOU to all who donated during our Annual End of Year Campaign. Thanks to your incredibly generous support, we were able to raise over $29,000 to help sustain rowing and paddling in Pittsburgh through 2023.

Executive Director's Report

Dear TRRA Community,

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a safe and happy holiday season.

The start of the new year brings with it renewed energy, new goals to pursue and new opportunities to explore. Over the next 12 months, we will look to build on the successes of 2022 and continue to relentlessly pursue our mission, both on and off the water. Here are a few things to look forward to over the next few weeks:

  • The Pittsburgh Indoor Championships are BACK! Get ready for a great day of racing on January 28, 2023 at the Kingsley Association.

  • TRRA Leaders to be recognized by USRowing at the Annual Convention

    • Anita DeFrantz Award Winner: Richard Butler

    • Ernestine Bayer Award Winner: Carol Schoenecker


  • The TRRA Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

We are determined to make 2023 our best year yet. We know there will be challenges and we are confident in our ability to meet those challenges and overcome them as a community. Together, we will maximize our opportunities, enhance our experiences and continue to elevate TRRA to new heights, on and off the water. Now, let’s get to work!
