Racing is back! And not a moment too soon for all of our athletes, coaches, supporters and the entire TRRA community. Throughout the month, programs will be departing our TRRA campuses en route to Nashport, OH (Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championships), Bethel, OH (Midwest Junior Rowing Championships), and to Camden New Jersey (A-10 & MAAC Championships) to represent their programs and our city in the first championship events since May 2019! The resilience that these athletes, coaches and programs have demonstrated to get to this championship season is an attribute we can all be proud of and will continue to make each crew a force to be reckoned with on race day. Best of luck to all those competing this spring - you earned this, now enjoy it!
With the excitement of racing ahead of us, we must pause for a moment to mark the passing of one of TRRA’s founders, Dave Figgins. Mr. Figgins was instrumental in developing the vision of what TRRA could be and, in collaboration with Mike Lambert, Chris Ryan and others, ensured that their vision became a reality. The entire TRRA Community is forever indebted to Mr. Figgins and will continue to honor his legacy both on and off the water.
With summer right around the corner, we are excited to see so many more people returning to the water. Our dragon boats (plural!) are full, Masters programs are growing, and summer camps and Summer Rowing League will be starting before you know it! Read on for more information about our summer programs. We hope to see everyone back on the water with us in the near future!
Take care and be safe,
Matt Logue
Executive Director

GREEN CREW
The TRRA Green Crew held its first meeting of 2021 this past week and is excited to continue its goal of creating a more sustainable rowing and paddling community. We are currently looking for new members! Anyone interested in joining should email CJ (cjstrauss@threeriversrowing.org).
We also would like to remind all to please be mindful of the difference between recycling (blue bins only!) and trash. TRRA has recently signed a contract with a recycling company and it is critical that we do not contaminate recycling with trash.
There are also still water bottles for sale! Help reduce single-use plastic and support additional green initiatives by purchasing a reusable bottle!
